The last time I heard that word I was very young. You know, in the 90s. A time when I thought they were cool. Fast forward to the early 2000s and I realized they were uncool. Fast forward a few more years and here I am writing about it.
And you know what?
I like it.
As a mom I’ve come to realize that I need my hands to be free and sometimes a crossbody bag is not the answer. Especially when the strap starts falling off your shoulder and it gets annoying.
Now that doesn’t really justify me getting a fanny pack, or as Freshly Picked calls it, a park pack . But, I was in the market for something new since my current wallet crossbody bag was on its last legs.
As you can see the park pack from Freshly Picked is definitely different than others. Not as bulky and honestly, I feel that’s what made me think about purchasing it. It doesn’t look like an ordinary fanny pack.
It’s made out of wipeable water resistant vegan leather. It has four card slots and an adjustable waistband.
There are two ways you can wear the park pack comfortably.
Around your waist
One thing to consider before purchasing is that due to its size you can only carry the essentials: phone, keys, lipstick (if it’s your thing), and a small wallet. I say a small wallet because a regular size wallet will be a tight fit, or that might be the only thing you will be able to put there.
Now the question is… does it do the job?
Well, I was recently able to test it out at Disneyland and I had no issues. In fact, there were times when I was wearing my Ergobaby and the park pack and it wasn’t uncomfortable. Best of all, it was a breeze to put on and take off during the security checkpoint while wearing the Ergobaby.
My Pros and Cons
PROS: This park pack can be a good investment for those looking for something simple to use for quick trips to the park, errands, or those that want to be hands-free.
CONS: Too small for people that carry more than just the basics (including glasses) or have regular size wallets. It will not replace your crossbody bag.
Would you buy/consider a fanny pack or the park pack from Freshly Picked?
